Crowns & Owls was started by a collective of Leeds based filmmakers. We started Crowns & Owls to make films, tell stories and have fun in the process and we’ve been doing that since the summer of 2010.
We’re good at making music promos, commercials, fashion films and we’d like to make some short films, as we think we could pull one or two of those off as well. We’re good at working on a variety of budgets. A tight budget doesn’t make a bad film, but laziness does, and we’ll always go the extra mile on all of our productions. If you don’t have an idea for your music video – we can come up with one for you. If you do, we’ll work together to make something really cool. If we like your music, the pleasure is all ours, so please have a look at our other music video projects and do get in touch.
‘Viral’ is a word often misused in the world of Internet filmmaking, and it’s not one we’re particularly fond of. Some videos go viral that probably shouldn’t, like cats in boxes on Christmas day and some videos don’t go viral that should, like months of work from independent filmmakers all over the world. We always try to get our videos to find an audience. We’re not a marketing agency, but views matter to us, so we’ll always try and help our clients get their films seen by people. We’ll throw that in for free, but you have to do your part too!
We take our projects from conception to delivery, and this is all done in our workshop. This is rare in the film world, but it allows us to work incredibly closely with our productions and we’re very lucky to be able to do so.
